Butlins holiday camp staff numbered bullseye badge

A rare original early period 'Butlin's holiday camp staff badge'; gilded brass example inlaid with white enamel, depicting a bullseye with rectangular bar inscribed "BUTlIN'S STAFF"; the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt London" and impressed with official issue number "145". Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel intact but with spider web stress lines issuing from the central 'S' and tiny nick to lower edge, gilt finish remains bright.

A rare original large pattern version of 'The London Hospital School of Nursing badge'; unmarked silver example, the reverse impressed with maker's details "J.Pinches London" and inscribed "Clara B. Turner - MAY 1911 - JUNE 1913 DEC 1915". Excellent condition, complete with original pin fitting with safety catch, enamel perfect and housed in its original velvet lined fitted leather presentation case by John Pinches London, the outer lid impressed in gold tooling with badge and inscribed "The London Hospital School of Nursing".

WW1 Silver War Badge Kings Royal Rifle Corps

A scarce original First World War period 'Silver War Badge officially numbered "167778", awarded to "R/1723 RFN. Joseph Lester"; unmarked silver circlet inscribed "For King And Empire" "Services Rendered" bearing crowned "GRI" Imperial Cypher to voided centre, together with his original cap badge. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings.
Diameter 34mm.

Awarded to 'R/1723 RFN. Joseph Lester' of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps. He enlisted on the 2nd September 1914, landed in France 23rd July 1915 and was discharged as the result of wounds on the 29th April 1917. He was awarded the 1914/15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
The 'Silver War Badge' was awarded to service personnel who were honourably discharged due to wounds or sickness whilst serving in the Great War. It was worn on the lapel in civilian clothing.
