A good original wartime oxidised silver plated badge, rose within a laurel wreath surmounted by a King's Crown with Greek motto scroll below which translates as "We Work in Silence". Believed to be worn by officers at ports employed to seek out sensitive material which would be of use to our enemies. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.

A scarce original Second World War period 'Thornycroft 1939 lapel badge' gilded brass circular example, depicting the companies logo a 'T' within a blue and white enamel flag the reverse with maker's details "Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham" and impressed with official issue number "S5736". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole horseshoe fitting, enamel perfect, minor surface scatches.
During Second World War Thornycroft built for the Royal Navy the Assault Landing Craft renamed Landing Craft Assault used by British troops at the D-Day landings 6th June 1944.
