Womens Voluntary Services WVS Civil Defence home front badge by Marples & Beasley

A scarce original circa 1953 to 1966 cold war period 'Womens Voluntary Services WVS Civil Defence chromium plated enamel badge'displaying a Queen's Crown, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Marples & Beasley Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, an excellent example.

'Women's Voluntary Service' became the 'Women's Royal Voluntary Services' in 1966.
