WW1 Wallsend Slipway & Engineering Co Ltd on war service badge

A scarce original First World War period 'On His Majesty's Service Wallsend Slipway & Engineering Company Ltd on war service badge', large gilt circular example bearing blue enamel title surround 'O.H.M.S' 'W.S & E.Co Ltd' with patriotic red, white and blue enamel Union Jack Flag to centre; the reverse impressed with official issue identification number '759'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.

In 1914 Wallsend Slipway and Engineering Company, located on the River Tyne at Point Pleasant near Wallsend Tyne and Wear were Boilermakers and Ship-repairers.
