A rare original, early half of the 20th century 'Royal Portsmouth Queen Alexandra Hospitals School of Nursing badge'; large gilt brass and enamel example, displaying 'Star and Crescent' to centre on white enamel ground; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'Purser Medallists Portsmouth'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel almost perfect but for some minor stress marks to edge of right scroll.
